Mawu

This is your card reading for Tuesday, August 25th/15. Your card glided out of the 'Awakening of the Divine' card deck, authored by Velva Dawn Silver-Hughes.  Your card is 'Mawu - Divine Mother Earth', and Velva Dawn's message for the card is this:
"Crystal: Serephenite
Are you taking care of yourself first? Do you feel a strong need to help Mother Earth with recycling?  Are you being responsible for your own energy field?  Do you feel passionate about sharing the needs of Mother Earth? Having you been receiving guidance to grid your home and/or land with crystals?
Mawu is a west African Earth goddess who has great knowledge on how to supply our needs without harming our great Mother Earth.  She has a very strong connection to Mother Earth...
Mother Earth is our divine Mother and as any good mother should do, she takes care of herself first.  Are you taking care of yourself first?  If your cup is empty, it's time for a little nurturing.  The natural disasters that occur on the Earth are Mother Earth's way of clearing her energy.  She is asking that you take a little time each day to meditate, going into your heart space to clear your aura which will lessen the clearing that Mother Earth has to do to everyone...
Keeping your own body healthy and recycling your own negative energy by eating healthy and exercising is a form of energetic recycling which contributes to the health of Mother Earth.  Mawu works with Mother Earth assisting in the releasing, integration and union of the people's energy on this planet...
This is an affirmation that it's time for you to grid your home and/or land with healing crystals.  When we place crystals in our homes, they help to recycle the energy within our homes and ourselves...Crystals are made from the Earth so using then to work in union with her creates harmony.
One by one with each of us changing our thought patterns to reflect positive loving thoughts from the heart, recycling, reducing waste, honoring our physical temples and loving one another is a gift we could give to ourselves and Mother Earth."

My message for you today:
As I was typing Velva Dawn's message for this card, what came to mind for me was the message of interconnectedness and lack of separation that underlies this message.  We are and have been moving toward the intrinsic understanding that we are inherently ONE.  I love the message also of our connection to Mother Earth, which we are moving back toward as a collective.  During the industrial revolution, we lost that connection as a collective---and no judgment here---that was an aspect of our evolution...some great things came out of that movement.  It is evident that we are returning to the understanding that the Earth is not separate from us and that we will be impacted personally by how we treat our environment.
Another thought that came to mind for me was Velva Dawn's comment as to 'recycling your own negative energy'.  I would respectfully replace the words 'negative energy', with 'lower energy', or 'energy that is not mine'.  Energy is simply energy---I have come to understand that to call it 'good' or 'bad' or 'positive' or 'negative' gives a connotation that is not actual.
As an empath, I feel and sense and experience other's energies; and sometimes take them on.  I have come to realize that to label those energies as 'negative' or 'bad' is judgmental---they are simply not MY energies and may not be in resonance with me, but that does not necessarily make them 'negative'.  Having said that, I do not need to walk around being affected profoundly by the energies of others, and so I am grateful for the learnings that I have acquired through some beautiful teachers about how best to care for my own energy field.  Crystal energy---as Velva Dawn speaks to in her message---is a wonderful gift from Mother Earth in assisting us vibrationally here in the physical, and is one means I implement in caring for my energy field and the energy field of my home.
Mawu has presented for you today to bring to your awareness the absolute interconnectedness between Mother Earth and her inhabitants and to remind us that in honouring Mother Earth, we honour ourselves...just as in honouring ourselves we thereby honour Mother Earth.
Blessed be...
