Your card today is drawn from the first angel oracle card deck that I purchased more than a decade ago, 'Messages From Your Angels', authored by Doreen Virtue.  Your card today is the 'Athena' card, and Doreen's message for the card is this:
"It is safe for you to be powerful.  You know how to be powerful in a loving way that benefits others as well as yourself."

My message for you today is this:
As we are in 'the shift', energetically, from the masculine paradigm of competition into the feminine paradigm of cooperation, there is often confusion regarding the appropriate use of 'power'.  Lightworkers, who are sensitive to the energies we are in, struggle in standing within their own power because they do not want to override the power of another in the influx of cooperative energy that we are experiencing. It is to be expected when there is any sort of change that there will be periods of adjustment and these often bring with them moments of confusion, angst and sometimes turmoil.  The angel, Athena, has stepped forward for you today to clarify for you that being self-empowered does not imply dis-empowering another.  For you to stand in your power does not take away the power of another...to stand in your power within the energy of cooperation means to share of your own unique strengths, while honoring the unique strengths and contributions of others... understanding that one need not undermine another.  We are NOT to completely deny the masculine energies within us, but instead to seek a beautiful, healthy balance between the masculine and the feminine, as both are necessary in navigating our way through this Earthly experience.  Society has been too firmly entrenched in the masculine 'dog eat dog' energy and, as often happens when things are out of balance, the pendulum may swing too far toward the feminine energy end of the spectrum as we seek to achieve a healthy balance.  You can do your part, in reaching for that balance, Lightworker, by committing to honouring yourself and knowing that you can stand in your power in a loving way, thereby serving as an example to others.
As sensitive Lightworkers, we also sometimes worry that, by shining our Light too brightly, we may threaten others and thereby experience their disapproval or even their departure from our lives.  Athena is sharing the message with you today that to shine your Light brightly only enhances the world and may even encourage others to come out of the dark to shine their own Light.  Just ensure that you are shining your Light from a heart-centered place (rather than to serve your Ego) because that is where your true power resides... from a heart-centered place of Love.  You were Divinely granted your own unique gifts and abilities...your Soul purpose is to share these gifts with the world.  There may be times when you are placed in circumstances that require you to stand firmly in your power...to 'stand up for yourself'...which is simply honouring the gifts you have been given.  Can you feel the difference when you imagine yourself standing up for yourself from a place of Love, as opposed to a place of Fear?  The Love energy is self-empowering and the Fear energy is aggressive and disempowering to all concerned.  
How interesting that I was guided to take the photo of your card today with my 'Mother Earth' sphere!  Of course, I take the photo before posting the message for you, and it is so clear to me now that the message has come through for you, why I was drawn to incorporate this beautiful crystal into your message today!  Mother Earth stones are composed of reconstituted Quartz and Cinnabar and it's energy assists us on the path toward our goals, which are for the greater good of All. Mother Earth stones invite us to feel the strength and beauty of their life force and to fully embrace our own life force and power. How perfect is that?  Athena AND  the Mother Earth Stone presenting for you today as a beautiful support in standing in your power.  It takes courage to be your authentic self and to understand that 'it is safe for you to be powerful'.  Shine your Light, Lightworker...stand in your power...the Universe needs you to accept and reveal your power of Love.  To do so is truly in the Highest Good of All.
