Bast ~ Independent

Your card today is drawn from the 'Goddess Guidance' deck, authored by Doreen Virtue. Your card is the 'Independent' card, which is aligned with the Goddess 'Bast'.   Doreen's message for the card is this:
"Your independence is a foundation for your strength and success."

My message for you today is this:
Bast  (the pronunciation rhymes with 'last') is an Egyptian goddess whose father is the Egyptian Sun God, Ra...her energies are aligned with both sun and moon energy, which is a rarity.  It is said that this goddess shapeshifts in the night to become a protective cat, as she watches over and protects all who call upon her.  Her feline qualities encompass being graceful, independent and playful, as well as having excellent nocturnal vision...the ability to 'see in the dark', metaphorically speaking.
Independence is sometimes characterized as 'detachment from others'...that is not what is being alluded to for you today...  The message for you today is that, in order to make your greatest authentic contribution to society, you must be clear within yourself who you truly are, and what your gifts and talents are, independent of what others opinions or judgments may be!  Do not allow others to dictate how you are meant to best express yourself in your Life...be independent in thought and follow your own internal guidance system!  Call upon Bast's energy to support you and protect you as you determine for yourself, independent of outside influences, what best serves your Soul's journey.  This is not to say that you completely shut out the opinions of those you hold dear...sometimes our loved ones see greater possibilities for us than we can see for ourselves!  What this card is bringing forward for you today is that ultimately, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOU, and how you will navigate your way through your own unique life experience, so be sure to choose wisely for yourself and to love yourself enough to express that which is YOU authentically!
Blessed be...
